On the 13th of June, the 6th edition of Madrid Monitoring Day took place. The event is a reference for business monitoring and digitalization.
Monitoring, Operational Intelligence, Big Data and advanced data analysis were the main themes touched upon in this 6th edition. More than 200 people attended the congress at the Auditorio Mutua Madrileña in Madrid. Assistants to the event were able to discover how the implementation of the monitoring platform IDboxRT has transformed many businesses.
A long list of prestigious speakers, from the most important international companies were present at the event.
The first day began with a video showing the importance of the power of data.
After the video, Aurelio Juárez, Key Account Manager at CIC, gave the start to the 6th Edition of Madrid Monitoring Day.
After Aurelio fired the starting gun to the event, it was José Antonio Rodríguez, Sales Solutions, at Vodafone´s turn to speak. He came to talk about the impact that 5G technology will have over IoT. Now that 5G networks are a reality, José Antonio continued with other technological aspects of the new technology and the paradigm that this technology means.
We also had the pleasure to have our UK partner from Stefanini talk. Bogdan Galusca, Director of Business Development (Digital Transformation Services at Stefanini for EMEA) presented what his company was up to and talked about the importance of partnerships for many companies in the digital transformation era.
Bogdan gave the word to Raja Ganguly, Vice President – Global Head – Digital Services, TATA. Raja spoke about the need for intelligent technological innovation in the manufacturing sector. He talked about exploring new ways to achieve better efficiency and better services for company clients. He continued on how companies have to be up to date in the new digital era and how they have to be more competitive towards their competition. And finally, Raja, talked about the role that Artificial Intelligence plays in manufacturing. He presented some real cases centered on the importance of intelligent automation and artificial intelligence.
After a short pause, we were able to do some networking and savour some delicious smoothies prepared by Álvaro Martín Cuesta.
After this short break, Cristina Berti, Industry 4.0 Platform Expert at CEPSA took to the stage. Cristina is currently working in field projects in the IoT, digitalization and industry with IDboxRT. She gave us her take on monitoring systems. CEPSA uses the IDboxRt tool to take raw data and transform it into something useful, to be able to make informed decisions, which affords the company great added value. IDboxRT has helped transform CEPSA into a data-driven company, where data is what’s important: From acquiring data and processing it, to detecting company needs and incidences, making decisions and acting.
The conference continued with the intervention of José Manuel Marin, Water Technical Director at VEOLIA, a professional with more than 20 years experience in the water industry. He spoke about how the water industry has changed in recent times, how this sector is managed in different countries and how the sector has moved towards digitalization, a complicated process due to the complexities of managing water networks.
José Manuel talked about the importance in his company’s partnership with CIC and the use of IDboxRT, perfect allies in the digital transformation in the water industry and the digitization of services. He introduced the audience to Hubgrade, an energy efficiency management center that allows one to control and operate a companies installations remotely and in real time. He continued talking about how important customer service was and giving the customer real data. José manuel emphasized how cybersecurity was just as critical as energy, water or waste management.
Thanks to the IDboxRT monitoring platform and technology, VEOLIA is able to face the monitoring challenges it is presented with. Combining experience and know how of experts together, with monitoring, VEOLIA and it´s more than 9000 installations across Spain is able to recover data through its many sensors, temperature gauges, meters…., load them on the platform and analyse them. Data analysis is the most important point in this process. Only after the analysis is the company able to act (remotely with Hubgrade or sending it to its workers) and make decisions quickly and efficiently.
To finish off the event, it was Ana Isabel Gálvez, Digital Transformation Director in Tecnatom, turn to speak. Ana Isabel presented us her experience between her company and CIC, discussing real cases. Tecnatom uses new technologies in order to add a value to the data and make use of it as an efficient business tool to obtain better results.
Ana Isabel showed us her compàny´s monitoring center, inaugurated less than a year ago, where more than 15 thermal production units are monitored. Alarms management is a very difficult thing to do. Intelligent algorithms have been developed to detect the most common chains, synthesise and group them, trying to create a manageable stream alarm system, warning possible chains that may occur. The Digital Twin is a reality today that brings together different technologies and is of great assistance to Tecnaton because it optimises and cleans the systems, allowing them to avoid faults or unnecessary work stoppages.
Lastly, David Vilasack, IDboxRT Product Manager and Monitoring Manager, was in charge of closing the event and presenting some of the novelties that were in store for the attendees regarding the IDboxRT monitoring platform.
Live Data and information for a company’s transformation
They all have a common denominator: Consolidate the knowhow and obtain new information, that´s first hand and reliable from clients as monitoring solutions providers.
The event took place in the Mutua Madrileña Auditorium in Madrid. Having finished the presentations, a cocktail party was held where it was time to network and exchange ideas from different points of view: Business managers, IT managers, Engineers, Innovation managers, Consultors and Clients.
Thank you to all participants for making Madrid Monitoring Day possible. All the presentations and a video will soon be made available on www.mmonitoringday.com
